God is present in every moment and place. His presence isn’t tangible, we are unable to touch the feeling, but He is always with us.

As I was sitting on a stair step looking out on God’s creation I could feel the wind, even hear it as is moves across the land. Wind isn’t tangable, we can’t touch it, or see it, but we can always feel wind.

It’s such a powerful element of God’s creation. It can bring a refreshing breeze on a hot afternoon and the next day bring a hurricane to shore. Wind is fuel to forrest fires. It holds enough power to rip roofs off of houses, push trees down, and carry storms into different directions.

But what a blessing it is, working outside in 95 degrees, when a burst of wind overwhelms your work site. When you’re sitting on the beach and wind playfully pushes your hair into your face, or when playing soccer and running so hard you feel the sweat dripping down your skin. What a blessing when a breeze comes alongside you in those moments.

God has showed me much of His character in the wind. We can’t see the Holy Spirit, but we feel it’s presence. We know when we feel the overwhelming peace of His presence. He is always present in every part of the world at the same time. He is powerful enough to wash this world of all life in an instant.

But He brings life through His love for us. Unlike the wind, God has lived and died as a human through his son Jesus. He knows the temptation, hurt, and confusion of this world, yet chooses to keep it because of the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control that His children exhibit. The verses in which God is said to be our Shepard, leaving the 99 to go find the 1, isn’t an exaggeration. With the new covinent  God made, we are living in the grace period of the world.

Times where God would wipe out cities, turn people to salt, and bring a flood to cleanse the world of its sin the world wasn’t any worse than we are today. In the Old Testament we would have experienced emmense pain for our sins if not death, but because we were born after Jesus we get to live our life knowing that He already took the pain of the cross for our sins.

Believe that God is as present as the wind, more powerful than any element, and a loving father beyond all human standards, because He is. Reading the Bible is how we learn what He has done, what we deserve, and how He chooses to love us in spite of our sins. Pray with me.

Gracious father we come before you in awe of your presence, power, and love. Thank you for the blessing to be born in your grace period. As humans we are blind to your presence when we live in our sin. I pray that each person reading this would remove the veil of their sin. Releasing it to you, knowing that you can handle it all. I pray that we would be overwhelmed from the peace of your Holy Spirit. That each time we feel the wind blow, we would remember everything you’ve done for us. We love you and we praise you always. Amen
